Scriptural Foundation

“It came even to pass, as the trumpeters and singer were as one, to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking the Lord; and when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets and cymbals and instruments of music, and praised the Lord, saying, ‘ For He is good; for His mercy endureth forever: that then the house was filled with a cloud, even the house of the LORD; So that the priest could not stand to minister by reason of the cloud: for the glory of the LORD had filled the House of God.” (2 Chronicles 5:13–14 KJV)

Purpose

The music ministry of King Baptist Church (KBC) is to act as a vehicle to usher in the presence of God.  Its purpose is to set and establish an atmosphere that is conducive to worship to enable the presence of God to move freely among the congregation and enable each person in the congregation to experience Christ on a personal level.  The KBC music ministry serves as an enhancement to the worship service, preparing the people for the delivery of the Word of God.  It is not an end in itself and neither is it a means of filling gaps in the worship experience.  But rather, it is an active, participatory, and integral part of the worship service.
